Parent Teachers' Organization

The Parent Teachers’ Organization (PTO) of Saint Helen Catholic School focus on what students need to be successful in their learning, including school safety, nutrition, and general wellbeing of the students. PTO works with the school to ensure that students at all grade levels succeed. It helps to organize 8th grade graduations, fund raising for the school, and support students’ government Council. It provides a mutual platform for parents and teachers to work for the betterment of the school and the students, both physically and intellectually.

The Parent and Teacher Organization coordinates, student, family, and parent social events such as the Winter Basket event, Easter Egg hunt, Movie Nights, & numerous events for the students throughout the year. They coordinate special events for faculty and staff, such as Teacher Appreciation & Christmas Lunch. These are great ways to get involved and have fun doing it.  All school parents are automatically members of the Home & School Association. To volunteer for any upcoming school event, visit the school office for more information.

Bible Reading: Luke 12:54-59

“… why do you not know how to interpret the present time?”

Most often a homily will focus upon one or more aspects of the day’s Gospel Reading. Less often, the homily will focus upon the First Reading (or the Second Reading, if there is one). Very rarely will the day’s Responsorial Psalm be incorporated into the homily. Least of all, among the Scripture passages proclaimed during the Liturgy of the Word, is the simple Gospel acclamation. Have you ever heard a homily that focuses upon the Gospel acclamation, or even cites it?
